Occupational accidents are different from occupational illnesses as accidents occur unexpectedly and unplanned (e.g. mine collapse), whereas occupational diseases are "diagnosed as a result of exposure to specific occupational hazards" . The phrase "while you work" could include work-related accidents that occur on the company's premises, and may include accidents caused by third parties, according to Eurostat. The definition of an occupational hazard includes accidents that occur "while you are engaged in economic activity, while at work, or in the course of your employer's business" according to the ILO. An occupational accident, a workplace accident, an occupational accident, or an occupational accident "occurred during work" leading to physical or mental injury.
