Workplace safety speaks about the working environment at a company and includes all factors that impact the safety, health, and well-being of employees. It includes environmental hazards, unsafe working conditions or processes, drug and alcohol abuse, and workplace violence. Each and every act that is performed by an individual which may be work place violence leaves scars on every person in the organization. A single act of violence can change an entire company for a long time causing permanent damage. It results in the toxic working environment where no work gets done where all the employees think about what happened. If seen from a company perspective, violence also exposes the company to lawsuits and liability that can worth million dollars. Some steps are there and to be taken to promote work safety and to prevent chances of workplace violence. The most important step is for the company's leadership to communicate a zero-tolerance policy for workplace violence and behaviours that can lead to such events.
