Social justice is the concept of fair and just relations between the individual and the community, as measured by the distribution of wealth, personal employment opportunities, and social rights. In Western and ancient Asian cultures, the concept of social justice often refers to the process of ensuring that people fulfill their social roles and find what is best for society. In the internationalization of social justice, there has been an emphasis on breaking down barriers to mobility, creating safety nets and economic justice.
Social justice grants rights and duties to public institutions, which empower people to receive basic benefits and responsibilities. The institutions involved include tax, social insurance, public health, public schools, public services, labor law and market regulation, ensuring efficient distribution of wealth, and equal opportunity.
