Occupational Health

Occupational health is defined as a state of physical, mental and social well-being of all the individuals irrespective of occupations. It deals with all aspects of health and safety. It focuses primarily on the prevention of hazards. These terms elucidate the primary objective of this field. Occupational Health ensures the well-being of all the people by preventing departures from health, by regulating the risks and the adaptation of work to people, and from people to their jobs. It mainly focuses on the maintenance and promotion of individuals health and work capacity; improvement of work environment; development of work organizations and cultures in a way that supports health and safety at work and maintains a positive social climate and smooth operation.
