Nursing Practices

Nursing is a profession in the health care field that focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so that they can access, maintain, or obtain standard of living. Nurses can be distinguished from other health care providers in their approach to patient care, training, and range of practice. Nurses practice a range of skills with varying degrees of accreditation. Many nurses provide equal care to the physicians they plan, and this traditional role has shaped the public image of nurses as care providers. However, nurse practitioners are allowed by many managers to practice independently in a variety of situations. Since the postwar period, nursing education has already begun the process of rotation to introduce advanced and specialized qualifications, and many of the traditional principles and roles of providers are changing.

Nurses develop a system of care, working collaboratively with physicians, healers, the patient, the patient's family, and other team members focused on treating illness to improve quality of life.
