Kinesiology

Kinesiology may be defined as the study of physical activity and its impact on health, society, and quality of life. It involves the study of the various disciplines that encompass the movement of the human body. Dr. George Goodheart founded kinesiology in 1964. The knowledge of Kinesiology is frequently used by osteopaths, chiropractors and dentists all over the world. It is a multifaceted field of study in which movement or physical activity is the primary focus. Different disciplines that are studied under kinesiology are areas include (but are not limited to) biomechanics, psychology of physical activity, exercise physiology, measurement of physical activity, motor development, motor learning and control, physical activity and public health, physical education pedagogy, sport management, sports medicine, and the sociology of physical activity etc. Kinesiology is applied in areas of health and fitness for all levels of athletes, but more often found with training of world class players.
