Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the scientific discipline associated with the understanding of the interactions between humans and other elements of a system. It also deals with profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to enhance human well-being and overall system performance. Both the terms ergonomics and human factors are inter-relatable. Ergonomics is often used in combination with the physical aspects of the environment such as workstations and control panels. Human factors are used to wider system in which people work.

Ergonomics clubs knowledge from other subjects such as anatomy and physiology, psychology, engineering and statistics to ensure strengths and abilities of people and to decrease their limitations. Instead of forcing the people to work in an uncomfortable, stressful or dangerous way, ergonomists and human factors specialists help understand people how to use a a product, workplace or system can be designed to them.
