Dental Care

Permanent teeth can be everlasting if proper care is taken. The risk of tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss can be avoided with maintenance of good oral hygiene, a low-sugar diet, use of a mouth guard while playing sport, and regular visits to the dentist or other oral health professional. Every individual should visit the dentist atleast once in 6 months, including young children. Various modern techniques have been developed and are carried out with no, or very little, discomfort.

Many health conditions have various impact on your oral health and vice versa while some medicines that affect the mouth are to be taken before treatment. Soft tissues like gums, tongue, lips, cheeks and palate should also be routinely screened for oral cancer and other possible problems. In special cases the dentist may also inspect jaw joints and the lymph nodes in your neck. If there is a suspicion of dental problem and it’s difficult to see i.e., possible decay between two touching teeth, or an infection, the dentist may prefer x-rays
