Coronary artery disease (CAD), also known as coronary heart disease (CHD) or coronary heart disease (IHD), involves a reduction of blood flow to the heart muscle due to plaque formation in the cardiovascular system. We are more prone to heart disease. Types include stable angina, unstable angina, myocardial infarction, and sudden death. Common Symptoms A chest pain or discomfort that can affect the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Sometimes it can sound like a heart attack. Symptoms usually occur through exercise or emotional stress, take less than a few minutes, and then improve with rest. Respiration can also occur and sometimes no symptoms are present. In most cases, the first symptom is a heart attack. Other complications include heart failure or irregular heartbeat
