Acute Ischemic Stroke

Ischemic stroke is one of three types of stroke. It is also called cerebral ischemia and internal ischemia. This type of stabbing is caused by a blockage in the blood-brain barrier. Seizures reduce blood flow and oxygen to the brain, leading to damage or death of brain cells. If blood circulation is not restored immediately, brain damage can be permanent. About 87% of all strokes are ischemic stroke. Another type of severe stroke is hemorrhagic stroke, in which blood clots in the brain and causes bleeding. Bleeding stresses the brain tissue, damages or kills it. The third type of stroke is ischemic attack (TIA), also known as ministroke. This type of sting is caused by a temporary shutdown or a decrease in blood flow to the brain. Symptoms often disappear on their own.
