Toxicants are the man-made harmful substances such as insecticides and many other industrial chemicals which are released to the environment by human activities. Carcinogens, Mutagens, Allergens, Neurotoxin and Endocrine disrupters are the different types of toxicants. Exposure to toxicants can have long term health impacts among organisms. The effect of toxicants on the environment is determined by the amount of the chemical that is released, the type and concentration of the chemical, and where it is found.
