Tetanus also called lockjaw is a bacterial disease caused by Clostridium tetani that affects your nervous system, leading to painful muscle contractions jaw and neck muscles. Sympotms include stiffness of your neck muscles, difficulty swallowing and stiffness of your abdominal muscles.
