Sub Clinical Hypothyroidism

Sub Clinical Hypothyroidism is abnormally low activity of the thyroid gland, resulting in retardation of growth and mental development in children and adults. Radiation therapy, Radioactive iodine therapy, thyroid surgery and too little iodine in the diet are some of the causes of Hypothyroidism.

Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH), also called mild thyroid failure, is diagnosed when peripheral thyroid hormone levels are within normal reference laboratory range but serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels are mildly elevated.
