Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)

PCBs are the synthetic organic compounds. They have been used in electric equipment such as transformers and capacitors as an insulating material and also plasticizers in paints, plastics and rubber products pigments, dyes and carbonless copy paper. PCBs has been banned by the United States Congress in 1979 due to its toxicity and carcinogenic property.
