This branch deals with the various interactions between human body and the environment. The role of environment in causing diseases and fighting with certain kinds of diseases. Environmental medicine focuses on the environmental factors which causes diseases like Physical, Chemical, Biological, Social (including Psychological and Culture variables) and also the safety measures which can deal with these factors and prevent and treat the disease. It has a very broader scope of research but some of the currently prominent issues are bomb attack and the resulting effects of radioactive material and radiation on humans., mercury poisoning and lead poisoning due to consumption of fishes, air quality, food poisoning, ozone layer depletion, air and water pollutions impact on human health.
