Biography
Dr. Gentile was awarded his Ph.D. in 2002 from the Seconda Universita di Napoli, Italyl. In 2003 he moved to North Carolina, for a postdoc at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, in the Laboratory of Neuroscience. In 2007, Dr. Gentile moved to Duke University in the Department of Cardiology Ion Channels Unit and in 2009 he accepted the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics of the Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Gentile is an expert in ion channels and has authored several seminal articles on the role of ion channels in regulating biochemical pathways. Currently, his research focus on the role of Ion Channels in cancer and in developing anticancer therapeutic approaches by targeting ion channels.
