Biography

Mr. Nikolaos Fotos is Assistant Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Nursing, since 2009 when he was appointed as Lecturer. Mr. Fotos has received his BSc in Nursing (1999), his MSc (2011) and his PhD (2006) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Nursing. At bachelor level he is the leading Professor in the scientific fields of Medical Nursing, Cardiovascular Nursing and Clinical Nursing Practice. At post-graduate level he is the leading professor in the field of Cardiovascular Nursing. Also, Mr. Fotos has worked as clinical nurse for 9 years (2000-2009) in Emergency Department (1 year) and in Cardiological Departments (8 years) in two different tertiary hospitals of Athens, Greece.

Research Interest

The research interests of Mr. Fotos are the following: ? Cardiovascular diseases (hypertension, coronary disease, acute myocardial infarction, heart failure) ? Gastroenterological and liver diseases (celiac disease, chronic viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma) ? Health related quality of life in patients with chronic diseases ? Psychological disorders in patients with chronic diseases ? Adherence of patients with cardiovascular disease to their treatment
