Biography
Angelina Zanesco is a Professor in Physiology at University of São Paulo State, Rio Claro, Brazil. She received her master degree in Pharmacology at Federal University of Sao Paulo and her PhD in Physiology at University of Campinas/Louisiana State University, New Orleans (USA). She did her post doc training at Imperial College London
in Heart and Lung Institute.
She has been working in Exercise Sciences and Cardiovascular Physiology in experimental model as well as in human studies. She mentored 25 master and 12 PhD students as well as supervised 3 post doc fellows in her expertise field. Her main interest is blood pressure regulation, biomarkers and physical exercise by using isolated tissues in experimental models. Over the past 15 years, she has established a new research interest in translational physiology studying gender differences, cardiovascular system, biomarkers and physical exercise.
She has published 52 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 07 chapter reviews and 19 chapter books related to exercise training, blood pressure regulation and pharmacological approaches studying different signaling pathways such as NO/cGMP, renin-angiotensin system and steroids hormone.
