Biography
Dr. Ahmet Afsin Oktay earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University School of Medicine, the most prestigious medical school in Turkey. He completed his internship and medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Presence Saint Francis Hospital program at where he also served as a chief resident in medicine and president of house staff association. He is currently a fellow in cardiovascular diseases at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Dr Oktay was involved in clinical and research activities at various academic institutions including; University of Oxford, University of Texas Southwestern, Rush University Medical Center and the University of Chicago. Dr. Oktay has a special interest in translational and clinical research in general cardiology with particular interest in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, hypertension and atrial fibrillation.
