Richard J Jackson is Professor and former Chair of Environmental Health Sciences at the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA. A pediatrician, he has served in many leadership positions with the California Health Department, including the highest, State Health Officer. For nine years he was Director of the CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health in Atlanta and received the Presidential Distinguished Service award. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. He is widely recognized leader in Environmental Health and in areas related to the "built environment" and health. |
