Department of Chemical Engineering 

 Dr. M. Joyce Nirmala obtained her PhD in Nanobiotechnology from the Centre of Nano-biotechnology, VIT University (2010-15). She twice received the “Research Scholar Award” with a cash prize for the year 2012 and 2013 to honor her maximum number of research publications in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. She contributed to thirty one articles in reputed International Journals. She also served four years as Teaching and Research Assistant in the School of Biosciences and Technology, VIT University. She obtained her post graduation in Biotechnology from VIT University (2007-09). During this period, she worked on a research project in the Department of Pharmacology, CMCH. She did her Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology in Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) (2000-2004). She worked on a research project titled “Anti microbial use and resistance of E. Coli in pregnant women in India” in the Department of Microbiology, CMCH in collaboration with WHO, Geneva (2005). She is a Life Member at Innovare Academics Sciences. She is an Editorial Board Member for “International Journal of Current Pharmaceutical Research”. She acts as reviewer of many International Journals. She gave an invited talk at TM’s 1st World Nanomedicine and Nanotechnology Online Conference. She gave oral presentations at many National and International conferences. Her primary research interests include Nanobiomedicine and Nanopharmaceutics. Novel drug delivery systems, antibiotic drug resistance, drug pre-formulations and kinetics, nano-bio interaction studies, nano-toxicity and cancer medicine are some of the key areas.
