 Prof. Rajinder K. Gupta, Ex-Dean (2009-12) completed his higher education including first PhD degree from Delhi University in Organic Chemistry of Natural Products. He earned his second PhD in Microbiology /Biotechnology from University of Idaho , USA . He was awarded Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship to work at the Technical University, Berlin , Germany , where he worked on Phytochemicals and Natural Products. He worked on bioactive agents from marine organisms at the University of Oklahoma , USA , and on actinomycetes physiology and on their biocatalytic /biotransformation ability of various substrates of natural origin at University of Idaho , USA . He has over 134 research publications to his credit and has more than three decades of experience in academia, and industry (pharmaceutical, agrochemical, polymer and commercial test house). He is a member of several national & international professional /academic bodies. He has provided consultancy to Delhi Government to set up an ultramodern food quality testing facility in Delhi . His current areas of research include Phytomedicines, nutraceuticals and functional foods, antibiotics from actinomycetes, biotransformations, and nanobiotechnology. Currently, he is looking after M. Tech. (Food Processing Technology) program.
