Fredrik Saboonchi professor of Public Health science, Health Psychology at the Department of Public Health and Medicine, the Swedish Red Cross University College, Stockholm, Sweden. Fredrik is also a senior researcher at Karolinska Institutet, Division of Insurance Medicine, and guest senior researcher in Academy for Health and Work at Gävle University, Sweden. He received his PhD in psychology at University of Stockholm in 2000, and have since then been conducting research in the intersection of health and behavioural issues. Fredrik is currently a research leader for the theme “Health Promotion and Resilience” at the Swedish Red Cross University College.
Fredrik Saboonchi’s research is currently directed toward two tracks. A prominent track is that of health and resilience among trauma afflicted refugees and asylum seekers in Sweden which is run in collaboration with the Swedish Red Cross, Care and Migration units. The second track consists of studies in long term and chronic ill-health conditions with a focus on assessment and intervention. Fredrik was named Professor of Public Health Science, Health Psychology earlier this years and will give his installation lecture “The Reciprocity of Human Rights and Health and Behavioural Sciences: Advancing the case for Participation and Resilience”.
