Biography | ||
Daniel McCormick has a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Electronic Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Waikato. For his MSc thesis, he designed switch mode power supplies for high power audio amplifiers. Daniel embarked upon doctoral study within the Wireless Medical Device group of the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in 2006. The Wireless Medical Device group develops miniature implantable sensor systems for physiological research, and Daniel's research focused on the development of miniature implantable devices with an emphasis on low-power wireless power transfer. In particular, he was interested in methods to continuously power wireless mobile devices irrespective of their orientation and position. |
