Professor Anthony (Tony) Moran, who died in office on 30th September 2010, was a Professor of Microbiology in the National University of Ireland Galway since 2005. He was Founder and Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Biochemistry, School of Natural Sciences, NUI Galway. Since first appointed Lecturer in 1992, Professor Moran contributed extensively to both research and teaching in NUI Galway.
