Abstract

Interventional radiology ( IR ) is rapidly growing field. This service is becoming a challenging and complex care due to variety in case mix, diseases acuity, broad spectrum of procedures. The nursing role is crucial and fundamental to assist the interventional, ensure patient safety, pre and post-procedure monitoring and stability of patient. In this presentation, I will review IR from nursing perspective, the different roles of nurses, the nursing core competencies’ to practice IR, and the current nursing best practices in the field.

Biography

Experienced Nursing with a demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry. Skilled in Nursing, with 3 years’ experience in neonatal,2years Ob/Gyn ,1 year endoscopy , and 3 years as radiology nurse ( intervention nurse).
