Edible and Medicinal Herbs (EMHs) refer to a class of substances with dual attribution of food and medicine. These substances are traditionally used as food and also listed in many international pharmacopoeia, including the European Pharmacopoeia and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (CP). Some classical formulas that are widely used in traditional Chinese medicine include a series of EMHs, which have been shown to be effective with obvious characteristics and advantages. Notably, these EMHs and Chinese Classical Prescriptions (CCPs) have also attracted attention in international herbal medicine research because of their low toxicity and high efficiency as well as the rich body of experience for their long-term clinical use. Our purpose is to explore the potential modulation for the study of modern cancer drugs. In the present study, we present a detailed account of some EMHs used in CCPs that have shown considerable research potential in studies exploring modern drugs with immune-inflammatory modulation. Approximately 500 publications in the past 30 years were collected from pubmed, web of science and science direct using the keywords, such as natural products, edible and medicinal herbs, Chinese medicine, classical prescription, immune-inflammatory, tumor micro environment and some related synonyms.
Natural immune modulators
The active ingredients instead of herbal extracts or botanical mixtures were focused on and the research conducted over the past decade were discussed emphatically and analyzed comprehensively More than ten natural products derived from EMHs used in CCPs are discussed and their immune-inflammatory modulation activities, including enhancing antitumor immunity, immunosuppressive factors and inflammatory mediators, are summarized. The immune inflammatory response is ordinarily defined as a moderate or abnormal system response of immune cells or immune-related cells to the changes in the internal or/and external environment While this response primarily aims to protect the body from damage caused by such changes, excessive immune-inflammatory reactions can lead to an imbalance in the body, including organs, cells and molecules, which is the pathological basis of the occurrence and development of other antigenic factors show immuno suppressive activity and have been proven to be related to a series of immuno suppressive effects in the immune cycle of cancer, such as antigen presentation, T-cell initiation, T-cell transport and T-cell tumor infiltration Antiangiogenic agents targeting stimulate the immune response, thus enhancing antitumor immunity Some recombinant proteins targeting the over the course of China's 5000-year history. Chinese medicine has evolved into a traditional form of medicine with Chinese characteristics. Through thousands of years of practice, ancient Chinese physicians developed numerous prescriptions that reflect their wisdom. To achieve the “inheritance and innovation” of Chinese medicine and facilitate in-depth excavation of the essence of Chinese medicine in China.
New cancer therapies
The national administration of traditional chinese although surgery and radiotherapy are the two main treatment methods for local and non-metastatic cancers, anticancer drugs are currently the mainstream choice, especially for metastatic cancers. However, the toxic adverse effects of and resistance to existing anti-cancer drugs have necessitated the identification of new anticancer drugs and novel therapies. As mentioned above, immuneinflammatory regulation plays a critical role in the occurrence The disease has affected billions of people and caused multitudes of deaths globally. People with immuno-compromised are the even mostly vulnerable especially those involved to care of suspected or confirmed cases of covid. Furthermore, the viral resistance and side effects, as well as viral re-emergence and latency on majority of currently available antiviral medications are concerned challenge.
Natural antiviral solutions
This situation prompts for several institutions, scientists, researchers and practitioners get not settled as they daily search for solution of. As a result, a lot of medication and vaccine research studies at the experimental and clinical levels are now being done worldwide in focus to tackle Certainly, vaccines, interferon treatments and small-molecule medicines are likely to be among the choices for controlling or preventing developing infections. What is important here? The world need drugs which can either kill kill the or interferes its replication or make human body immunity strong to fight against for sustainable global and environmental health. Nature through natural products is a potential source for the solution to out-weigh. The natural products (secondary metabolites or phytochemicals) from medicinal plants are therefore bringing hope to contain phyto compounds which can either kill the the interferes its replication or make human body immunity strong to fight against. Hypericin is among of the recently reported natural products with antiviral activities against. Thus, this paper does not only highlights important medicinal plants used by traditional medication healing but also exhibit potential phytochemicals for drug discovery and development as efforts to fight.
