Abstract

With Ordinance 1/2021, the Extraordinary Commissioner for the implementation and coordination of the containment and contrast measures of the epidemiological emergency Covid-19 has ordered the Pharmacist Manager Staff under Central Structures as responsible for the application of the correct methods of receipt, storage, distribution of vaccines at the National Depot of the Military Airport of Pratica di Mare. The Ministry of Defense made movable property available and adapted this depot for the function of receiving / storing vaccines. It then ensured the movement / distribution of vaccines on the national territory, naming this operation "EOS Operation". The national vaccine storage hub of Pratica di Mare, identified as part of the Vaccine Distribution Plan Operation HEOS of the Ministry of Defense, has been adapted to perform the function of receiving and storing vaccines. It has been reconditioned thanks to the intervention of the Engineering Departments of the Aeronautica Militare. The Pharmacist Executive Staff of the Ministry of Health has been designated for the supervision and control of the procedure of Reception, Storage, Subdivision, Distribution of Vaccines, after drafting the relative standardized and shared Procedure.

Aims:

It is intended to highlight the work carried out in the Reception, Storage, Subdivision and Distribution of Vaccines in the period 31/12/2020 (first date of arrival of the vaccines), up to 31/12/2021 and to report on the implementation of a Standardized procedure inherent to this work.
