Abstract

Use of Ta2O5 as a photocatalyst for degradation of Crystal violet using solar energy

The photocatalytic degradation of Crystal Violet was studied using Ta2O5 as semiconductor. Visible light was used as the source of energy. The effect of various parameters like amount of semiconductor, pH, light intensity, dye concentration etc. on the photodegradation were investigated. A tentative mechanism is proposed
