Cognitive function mental processes that include attention, memory, reasoning, problem solving and decision making. It is a critical aspect of human behavior that affects how we learn communicate and interact with the world around us. This article will into the components of cognitive function the factors influencing the impact of age and health on cognitive abilities and strategies to enhance cognitive performance. This is the ability to focus on specific stimuli while ignoring distractions. Attention is essential for effective learning and memory. It can be divided into selective attention sustained attention and divided attention each serving different functions in processing information. Memory is the process of encoding storing and retrieving information. It can be categorized into short term memory which holds information for brief periods and long term memory which involves the storage of information over extended periods. Memory plays a vital role in learning and adapting to new situations. These cognitive functions involve the ability to analyse situations make judgments and solve problems.
