Abstract
Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial evaluation of some novel benzenesulfonylhydrazone derivatives of benzimidazole
In the current research work, the synthesis of some new 2-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)-N-(4-(N’-substitutedphenylsulfonyl) benzohydrazide)benzamide derivatives(5a-5m) is described.The novel compounds were characterized using different spectroscopic methods. The new compounds were evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activity. Assessment of the antibacterial andantifungal activities of these novel compounds against a different cell cultures revealed that compound 5d, 5k and 5m are the active ones.
