Synthesis and biological evaluation of 4-thiazolidinone derivatives incorporating benzothiazole moiety

Some 2-aryl-3-(6-substitutedbenzothiazolyl)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-ones have been synthesized by the reaction of substituted-2-aminobenzothiazole with aromatic aldehyde (benzaldehyde, pchlorobenzaldehyde, anisaldehyde, salicylaldehyde) followed by condensation with mercapto acetic acid. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, 1H-NMR and Mass spectral studies. These were screened for their entomological (Antifeedant activity, Acaricidal activity, Contact toxicity, Stomach toxicity) and antibacterial activities.
