Endodontic treatment involves removing inflamed, diseased pulp tissue and their byproducts, disinfecting the tooth followed by sealing the inner chamber and the root canals. A root-canaltreated tooth is supposed to last for decades when done in properly. Endodontic Treatment is taught worldwide in most undergraduate dental schools and most General Dentists are expected to perform the same in daily practice. However several studies have suggested in spite of regular curriculum it may be one of the most complex procedures that may be performed by General Dentists. Aim: This presentation aims to provide the essential science and evidence base behind endodontic treatment and how to best apply this knowledge in an everyday clinical setting.
