Metabolic syndrome risk in relation to posttraumatic stress disorder among trauma-exposed civilians in Gansu Province, China

Evidence of the association between posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and metabolic syndrome is increasing; however, its occurrence after traumatic injury and whether there are sex differences in this association remain unknown. This study aimed to explore the association between posttraumatic stress disorder and metabolic syndrome and each of its components by sex in trauma-exposed civilians.
