Liver disorders are one of the common health problems as liver is far exposed to several types of therapeutic agents and xenobiotic. During metabolism, it generates lots of metabolites that are toxic and non-toxic, both. Moreover, exposure to environmental pollutants, toxic chemicals, etc. also leads to cellular injuries via metabolic activation of free radicals such as reactive oxygen species (ROS). On the other hand, some of the therapeutic agents, for example, paracetamol, ethanol, etc. cause liver damage. The different clinical, surgical and healing strategies available for the treatment of liver sicknesses are insufficient. Therefore, alternative drugs ought to be researched for remedying liver damages. The global prevalence of viral hepatitis remains high, whereas drug-induced liver damage continues to upsurge as a major cause of acute hepatitis. To curb the oxidative stress induced by free radicals, antioxidants are required for consumption.
