COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT OF ISCHAEMIC STROKE INPATIENTS IN ZAINOEL ABIDIN HOSPITAL BANDA ACEH

Stroke can lead to both physical disorder and cognitive impairment. Attention, language, memory, visuospatial, and executive function are cognitive domains that can be affected. The assessment of cognitive function can be fundamental to initiate cognitive rehabilitation as early as possible. This study aims to obtain the cognitive impairment of ischaemic stroke inpatients in Zainoel Abidin Regional Hospital between April to September 2018 using the MMSE and MOCA INA assessment tools. This study is a descriptive observational with cross sectional design. The sample consists of 30 ischaemic stroke patients that have been assessed with MMSE and MOCA INA. The result shows majority of them have cognitive impairment at least 2 domains including memory and cognitive (93,3% and 94% respectively).
