This presentation turns the tables and uses real de-identified examples and clinical feedback on the reality of these extremely complex systems. The results of a specific deep dive case study into the microbiology deployment – where containers and collections aren’t one-to-one – and survey data from all clinical disciplines across a 400 bed hospital experience were dissected. The conclusion formed from this study was that a combination of staff training and understanding combined with the IT participation of clinical staff would have provided a massive increase in operational efficiency upon deployment and development. Lessons learned that don’t appear on the C-Suite reports that are easy to implement at very little cost.
